When does the ABS NOT work?

According to the F650GS service manual, the ABS does NOT work when:

1. The ABS shuts down after approx 10 sec if you ride only with one wheel in contact with the ground.

2. at speeds bellow 6Km per hour (3mph) (or 12 Km/h (6 mph) if brake lever was actuated beforehand)

3. When the ignitio is switched off.

4. If the battery is defective or flat (indicated by ABS watning light)

5. If there is a fault in the ABS system

The brakes remain fully operational though without the reserves of safety afforded by ABS.
